Chuck has been a pastor for 22 years and is passionate about his faith and relationship with Jesus. Chuck has a deep love for teaching and preaching God's Word and served as a youth pastor for the first two years of ministry. Family is very important to Chuck. He is devoted to his lovely wife Barbi (who is also an ordained minister), with whom he has three adult children: Leah, who is married to Andrew; Sadie, their middle child; and their youngest, Laban, who is married to Jennifer. They have two grandchildren and currently live in Kent.

Doug has served at First Church since February 1992 in multiple capacities. He began as Pastor of Administration & Christian Education followed by Student Ministry Pastor. As the Executive Pastor he helps us stay on task to ensure things are not overlooked. Doug coordinates our students' ministry team and is a member of the Northeast Ohio Student Board. He is a graduate of Anderson University and Ashland Theological Seminary. He and his beautiful wife, Susan, live in Tallmadge with their cats Cooper and Boomer.

Mindy is excited to help empower and equip children to know God and build His kingdom. She has a degree in General Arts & Science with a focus in Social & Behavioral Science. Her studies concentrated in child development and women's studies. Mindy and her husband Wayne live in Streetsboro. They have two children, Max and Faith.

Angela has been a member of Tallmadge First Church of God since 2016. She enjoys serving in areas of Women’s Ministry, Children’s Ministry, and the Young Adult Growth Group. She has a Bachelors of Science Degree from Kent State University in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Family Life Education. Her professional background is in Nonprofit and Volunteer Management. She looks forward to serving the congregation as the Communications Director and continuing to grow stronger in her relationship with Christ. Angela, her husband Sean, and their son Michael live in Akron and enjoy anything outdoors.

Justin has been a member of Gods Church since 2019 when he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He has been a member of First Church since 2021. As a follower of Christ he has been called to serve as Student Ministry Director where he will work to bring young students closer to Jesus and motivate them to serve and love others. When Justin is not with his students, he works as a trim carpenter but more importantly a loving husband to his wife Abigail. Justin also serves on the worship team, where he strives to bring the congregation closer to God through the power of singing.

Barbi has been involved in ministry for 20+ years and was ordained by the Church of God in 2018. During the majority of this time, Barbi’s focus was student ministries. She was involved not only on the local level, but also in the district, for about 15 years. Recently, God has been leading her to women’s ministry. She sees the need for women to connect not only with God but with each other. She is excited to work with the women at First Church so that every woman will have a place to connect with other women through fellowship, discipleship and serving together while increasing their walk with the Lord.

Jim has nearly 10 years experience as a youth minister in the Church of God and was ordained in September 1999. He has been married to his wife Kelly for 40 years and they have three children (Katie, Elisabeth and Lynnae) and three grandchildren. As the Visitation Pastor, Jim provides pastoral care and regular visitation to members of the congregation who are unable to participate in worship or in the life of the congregation, generally due to health concerns or physical limitations. He also provides care when the Lead/Executive Pastors are unavailable.

As Office Manager Susan is the first point of contact for people reaching out to First Church. She works with the staff to maintain the church calendar of events, staff meeting notes, orders supplies, maintain church management software and so much more. She has an Associate of Science degree from Ball State University. Susan and her husband (Doug Walter) enjoy the outdoors and when relaxing, snuggle with their two cats Cooper and Boomer.

Danielle is a lifelong member of our congregation and is an essential member of our Children's Ministry team. She is also greatly skilled in the area of financing and records all our financial transactions.

Seth Watson has attended First Church since 2021 and was baptized soon after. He is a lifelong musician but was called to worship after visiting First Church. He has a passion to serve God through music and building fellowship, through worship and friendly conversations over coffee.

Seth lives in Tallmadge with his wife, Jenn, and three children: Charlie, Millie, and Tommy. When not working at his full time job or serving on the worship team, Seth enjoys spending time with his closest friends, many of whom are also members at First Church.

Crystal has a passion for ministering through music and song writing. She helps schedule and coordinate Sunday morning worship services and assists the Music & Worship Director. She has served in various types of ministry for over 20 years, including worship, children's, women's and homeless ministry. She has been part of First Church since 2022 and has served both on the worship team and the church’s first prayer card ministry (which she started in 2023). At her last church, she completed discipleship classes and received certificates for Freedom Prayer. She also completed a year-long course for In Christ's Image Training. Crystal has a heart for discipleship through encouragement and prayer and is passionate about leading people to the Lord. In her spare time, she enjoys being with family and friends. She also loves baking, crafting, bike riding, and hiking.
